A FOSTERING organisation has raised more than £1,400 to support needy children. The staff at Blue Sky Fostering in Romsey raised the cash for Child’s i Foundation, which provides short-term life-saving care for Uganda’s abandoned children while their family is traced. Since it was founded in 2009 by Londoner Lucy Buck, it has found foster or adoptive homes for more than 140 children who could not be reunited with their biological family. Blue Sky Fostering raised £1,414 to support the charity, including £481 from a raffle at its Christmas party. Simon Lockyer, Blue Sky Fostering CEO, said: “The money we’ve raised will have a huge impact on the foundation and will fund a social worker’s salary for a year. “Presently, there are 50,000 children growing up in Ugandan orphanages, all of whom need the care, support and security family life offers. “Lucy and her team at Child’s i Foundation are determined to recruit foster carers and adopters to provide the family homes that are needed so desperately and we are proud and honoured to be able to help them.”
