Sir: At last, I thought, we are going to have safe cycle routes into Romsey from out-lying villages. But no. I looked up the online form and there is nothing to be done to improve cycle access from the Test Valley villages. Yes we can travel to the end of Sandy Lane and then where the road narrows and traffic speeds along at up to 50 mph, no cycle lanes.

When two small girls lay the foundation stone for a church
When St Swithun’s was erected at Crampmoor in 1859, the honour of laying the foundation stone was bestowed upon two young girls, the daughter of Captain Suckling of Highwood and the daughter of R G Linzee at Jermyns House.
