This week has seen a return to Parliament (of sorts) and I had to be present on Wednesday to Chair the Women and Equalities Select Committee. As a first stab of holding an evidence session remotely it was ok, very few technical hiccups and, as the Secretary of State kept repeating, it showed us Parliament could work remotely. The broadcast teams have made it very clear these sessions work better with the Chair in the room, so I exercised very stringent social distancing whilst in the building
